Abstract
In a previous communication [1] we described a new technique for measuring nonuniform microstrain in a composite laminate during loading using a very high resolution optical scheme originated by Daniel Post [2]. Here we present one example of how that technique can be applied to obtain basic information that is critical to more complete understanding of the deformation processes that control the strength, stiffness, and life of composite materials.
