Abstract

Some data on isothermal aging of several PAN-based graphite fibers in air recently became available from a U.S. Air Force report, AFML-TR- 77-188 (November 1977). The work was done by Acurex's Aerotherm Division in Mountain View, CA. Table 1 summarizes the fibers tested; Fig. 1 illustrates the weight loss results at 500°F and 700°F.
