Abstract
By comparing ultrasound pulse velocities before and after repairs on concrete and reinforced concrete structures, it is possible to assess the efficiency of repairs. Two statistical ways are shown in the paper: (1) comparing the velocities and using t-test (Student) and (2) using the x2-test. The former is good in application when individual repairs are considered, and the latter is good when a great number of repaired places is under consideration, and the success and the stability of the whole structure is assessed. The methods were applied on bridge prestressed beams and the advantages of each are shown in examples.
