Abstract

Several of the following papers in this issue were presented at an ASTM Committee C-9 Symposium on Fracture Mechanics Standards in December 1996. I had the privilege of chairing this symposium, with the help of an organizing committee (consisting of Nicolas Carino and Lawrence Roberts).
