1. Scope
1.1 This specification establishes parameters for the design and manufacture of elliptical training equipment as defined in paragraph 3.1.
1.2 It is the intent of this specification to specify fitness products for use only by an individual age 12 and older.
1.3 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as standard. The values in parentheses are for information only.
1.4 This specification is to be used in conjunction with Specification F 2276 for Fitness Equipment and Test Method F XXXX for Elliptical Trainers.
1.5 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and to determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
Elliptical trainers are a very popular mode of fitness training that are covered by European Standards but no ASTM specifications.
