1. Scope
This specification sets forth the requirements for duplex, Types E, J, K, N and T thermocouple wire, insulated with polyimide resin film wrap insulation.
This standard is needed for product uniformity to wire insulation to provide high temperature resistance, high tensile strength, resistance to abrasion, good electrical insulating properties, and high radiation and flame resistance relative to other organic polymers. This standard will be used by the aerospace industry and referenced by standard industry looking for uniformity in product.
