1. Scope

1.1 This practice contains reporting requirements for temperature calibrations included in ASTM test methods. 1.2 This practice includes radiation thermometers, liquid-in-glass thermometers, resistance thermometers, and new thermocouples. The appendices include sample reports compliant with this practice. NOTE 1--This practice does not apply to used thermocouples. 1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and to determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use. This practice will give minimum requirements for reporting temperature calibrations in calibration test methods that are the responsibility of Committee E20. Calibration laboratories and users of calibrated temperature measurement devices will use this practice.
