1. Scope
1.1 This guide is intended to serve as a tutorial for selection and use of various digital detector array systems nominally composed of the detector array and an imaging system to perform digital radiography. This guide also serves as an in-detail reference for the following standards: Practice E2597, WK13186 Practice for Radiological Examination Using Digital detector Arrays, and WK16413 Practice for Digital Detector Array Performance Evaluation and Long-Term Stability. 1.2 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
It is needed to help people who want to do digital conversion make an informed decision without bias. Users are the traditional users of film radiogaphy at casting vendors to pipeline inspectors, government, or industrial.
