1. Scope

Tammy Taylor,Ph.D. - Task Group Chair/technical contact; Robert Stenner, Ph.D. - Sub-Chair/Technical Contact In the event of a Radiological Dispersal Device (RDD)terrorist attack or other radiological emergency, local jursdiction and regional first-responders will need a standardized set of decision-making guidance, procedures and tools, commonly referred to as an RDD Playbook. The RDD Playbook will assist personnel in making rapid, sound protective action decisions for first-responders and the public, as well as help avoid conflicting response information between agencies. This standard guide will provide sound guidance on the essential elements and criteria for the development of a location specific RDD Playbook, based upon In the event of a Radiological Dispersal Device (RDD)- dirty bomb - or other radiological emergency resulting from natural causes or a terrorist attack, local jursdiction and regional first-responders need a standardized set of decision-making guidance, procedures and tools for response to such incidents. All local and regional first-responder organization who may need to respond to an RDD event.
