1. Scope

1.1 This guide describes a common approach for verification of the thermal conductivity for block, blanket- and boardtype of insulation made from fibrous and cellular materials. These materials are used over a wide range of temperatures.
1.2 The purpose of this guide is to ensure the thermal conductivity values given in specifications are easily comparable and allows for evaluation of compliance with material standards.
1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health
practices and determines the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
