1. Scope
This practice covers using chemical fractionation to determine slagging and fouling potential.
There are no current standard methods for determining fouling and slagging potential in coal boilers for the electric power industry. This standard can be used in coal contracts to evaluate fouling and slagging potential before purchase of new fuels.
