    1. Scope

    1. Scope 1.1 This practice establishes criteria for the Design, Manufacture, Installation, Operation, Maintenance, Auditing and Major Modification of Summer Toboggan Runs which occur(s) after the effective date of publication of this document. 1.2 This practice applies to the following devices 1.2.1 Tub guided - Summer toboggan run 1.2.2 Rail guided -Summer toboggan run 1.2.3 Alpine Coasters 1.2.4 Mountain Coasters 1.2.5 Participant Controlled Coasters 1.2.6 Alpine Slides

The goal is to harmonize with both ISO 19202-1 and DIN 33960 for summer toboggan runs. This will help regulators like states, USFS, CSA and other jurisdictions that site ASTM F24 as the standards for amusement devices for regulations. Currently the standard ASTM F24 standards have a hard time addressing patron controlled adventure attractions like summer toboggan runs. This will help Manufactures, Operators, and Regulators in ASTM jurisdictions harmonize with the ISO and DIN regulated countries and jurisdictions for ease of use for all parties involved.
