1. Scope
This document presents a standardized high-level activity model of healthcare that identifies, organizes, and describes, through a standard graphical notation system, those activities performed in delivering and supporting healthcare services.
Models are forming the basis of an increasing number of standards in ASTM and other standards organizations. This standard will provide a common foundation that can build the link between clinical and business functions to data and other standards for all standards developers; it will also provide a standard reference foundation for clinical systems developers.
