The active test method is based on a specific apparatus model that is no longer manufactured. Two detection systems are described. Current apparatus suppliers, including the original manufacturer, supply apparatus types that match the apparatus descriptions and operating conditions described to varying degrees. The active test method needs an updated inter-laboratory study (ILS) and other appropriate revisions that describe contemporary apparatus types for its resistance furnace-IR Detection procedure. No revision to iodate detection system procedures is planned.
