This specification covers the design and fabrication of factory insulated pipe supports for pipes operating at both above and below ambient temperatures. 1.2This specification does not cover the design of systems of multiple pipe supports such as their spacing. 1.3Types of materials used, such as metal, insulation, sheet and film vapor retarder, and protective jacket reference existing ASTM specifications. 1.4This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
There needs to be a standard for factory insulated pipe support because they are being widely used in commercial buildings and increasingly used in industrial facilities.
