ASTM WK46635

Revision of C1419 - 99a(2009) Standard Test Method for Sonic Velocity in Refractory Materials at Room Temperature and Its Use in Obtaining an Approximate Young's Modulus

    (What is a Work Item?)

    Active Standard: C1419 - 14

Developed by Subcommittee: C08.01 | Committee C08 | Contact Staff Manager

    1. Rationale

The instructions in section 8.3 should be relocated to 8.7. Sections 8.1 through 8.5 describe setting up the instrument and measuring the zero correction time. Currently, section 8.3 refers to separating the transducers by the distance, through which, the measurement will be made. Section 8.7 discusses placement of the transducsers. It is logical for the instructions currently found in section 8.3 to be relocated to section 8.7.
