Review Rationale:As we went to review this standard for ballot, this question arose: Why the 0.549 mg/kg max for chlorides? That doesnt make sense to me it seems a bit arbitrary along with the requirement to re-test if it is between 0.5 and 1 and reject if it still doesnt meet the spec of 0.549 The spec is 0.2 ug/g (ppmw) max on the shipment in ASTM MEG spec. It seems that it would be simpler to use a round number (0.5 or 1 mg/kg) and leave the retest discussion off. The critical part is that the entire shipments not exceed the final spec.
