ASTM D7900 is used by the petroleum industry to determine the boiling point curve for the light end portion of a crude oil (C9 minus). This data is then used to update the D7169 simulated distillation results to correct for inaccuracies in the light end portion of that method due to solvent interferences. However, there is no standard practice for performing this merging of results. This taskgroup is being formed to review various procedures and develop standard algorithms for performing this merge. When complete, this will be added as an appendix to both D7900 and D7169 as an aid to users.
