    (What is a Work Item?)

Developed by Subcommittee: F42.05 | Committee F42 | Contact Staff Manager

    WK46201

    1. Scope

1.1 This standard describes a method for defining requirements and assuring component integrity for plastic parts created using extrusion based additive manufacturing processes. Materials include unfilled, filled, special additives (e.g. flame retardants, stabilizers, etc.) and reinforced plastic materials suitable for processing into parts. Processes include all extrusion based additive manufacturing processes. 1.2 This specification is intended for use by manufacturers of plastic parts using extrusion based additive manufacturing and for customers procuring such parts. 1.3 Units - The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. The value stated in each system may or may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in non-conformance with the standard.

A standard is necessary to definine requirements and assure component integrity for plastic parts created using extrusion based additive manufacturing processes. This standard is intended for use by manufacturers of plastic parts using extrusion based additive manufacturing and for customers procuring such parts.
