    1. Rationale

    Review of ASTM D5953 96 (2009) Determination of Non-Methane Organic Compounds (NMOC) in Ambient Air Using Cryogenic Preconcentration and Direct Flame Ionization Detection Method in advance of a renewal ballot indicated this standard was in need of some editorial change, addition of a reference to US EPA Method TO12, and addition of a warning opn compressed gas usage.
