ASTM WK46174

New Practice for Standard Practice for the Proper Use of Mechanical No-Dig Point Repair Sleeve with a Quick Locking Gear Mechanism for Pipes of Varying Inner Diameter and Offset Joints

    (What is a Work Item?)

Developed by Subcommittee: F36.20 | Committee F36 | Contact Staff Manager

    1. Scope

This new standard will establish minimum requirements to be met on good practices for the materials and installation of mechanical no-dig point repair sleeve with a quick locking gear mechanism for pipes of varying inner diameter and offset joints.

With the increased emphasis on users desiring to do more with less, point repair technologies are becoming more attractive compared to relining the entire pipe from one manhole to the next. There are no global standards in any jurisdiction covering the scope intended for this new standard. The users would benefit immensely from the proposed standard when the effort is made to write and ballot the proposed standard to see it come to fruition.

mechanical, no-dig, point repair, pipes, offset, joints, trenchless,
