    1. Scope

    This practice describes the application procedures required to rejunevate by reinforcing, sealing and protecting from further decay of sanitary sewers, storm pipes and drainage culverts. The geopolymer liner shall be centrifugally applied through a rotating applicator that rotates 360 degrees about a horizontal axis as it travels from one pipe joint to another. The liner created shall be of a uniform layer of prescribed thickness and be applied to all cleaned interior surfaces. The liner may be applied to pipes constructed of concrete, reinforced concrete, clay, corrugated metal, brick, block, steel, ductile iron, cast iron, plastics, and various other compatible materials of any shape and size.

    Utilities and highway departments throughout the world are unable to keep up with aging underground structures needing increasing level of funds. Therefore, these users are yearning to do more with less by turning to technologies that can deliver results faster at much lower cost than dig and replace. Geopolymer lining is routinely considered as one of the technologies that show great promise but lacks consensus standards to facilitate more efficient inclusion in the specifications that are bid by the owners and their engineering firms. This proposed work item is the first of its kind in the global market to fulfill a dire need.
