ASTM WK45812

Revision of F567 - 14 Standard Practice for Installation of Chain-Link Fence

    (What is a Work Item?)

    Active Standard: F567 - 14a

Developed by Subcommittee: F14.40 | Committee F14 | Contact Staff Manager

    1. Rationale

ASTM F567-14 was recently approved via Main Committee Ballot 14-01 Item #2, however the ballot received a comment that points out and documents that the 9 gauge aluminum tie as well as the 11 gauge steel tie do not perform having only one 360 degree twist around the chain link fabric picket and therefore these specific ties require two full 360 degree turns around the wire picket. The F14.40 subcommittee addressed the issue at the March 5th 2014 meeting and concluded that in order to maintain the security and the integrity of the fence system the F567-14 standard should be revised to require the installation of the 9 gauge aluminum tie wire and 11 gauge steel tie wire to reflect the two full 360 degree twists.
