    1. Scope

    1.1This test method covers the determination of the desorption of propylamines during a constant temperature ramp from 473 K (200C) to 773K (500C) and quantification of acid site concentration. 1.2This standard may involve hazardous materials, operations, and equipment. This standard does not purport to address all of the safety problems associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate limitations prior to use.

    This test method complements the dynamic ammonia chemisorption followed by a temperature programmed desorption (TPD). This method is most useful as screening tools to measure relative acid site concentrations on zeolites. It may be extended to other solid-state acidic catalysts provided that the user exercises care in optimizing the pretreatment and measurement conditions for the catalyst being tested.
