    Revision of B474 - 03(2009) Standard Specification for Electric Fusion Welded Nickel and Nickel Alloy Pipe

    1. Rationale

    Alloy 33 (R20033) is already included in ASTM for seamless and welded pipe and tube (B622, B619, and B6262) as well as other product forms such as plate, sheet & strip (B625), rod & bar (B649), Forging and fittings (B472 and B564). Now there is a user who wants to make electric fusion welded pipe with a filler metal to ASTM B474. We wish to add the Alloy 33 (R20033) to this specifcation with the appropriate filler metal requiresments to allow the use of electric fusion welded pipes with a filler metal. The filler metals are already covered under AWS in section A5.9 and A5.4. Footnote C in Table 2 are no longer applicable as ENiCrMo-17, ERNiCrMo-17, ENiCrWMo-1 are now published by AWS and should be removed entirely.
