ASTM WK45630

    Revision of D5188 - 14 Standard Test Method for Vapor-Liquid Ratio Temperature Determination of Fuels (Evacuated Chamber and Piston Based Method)

    (What is a Work Item?)

    Active Standard: D5188 - 14

    Developed by Subcommittee: D02.08 | Committee D02 | Contact Staff Manager

    1. Rationale

    Additional reference fluids are needed for the method. The current method uses only pentane for reference, which has a V/L outside the range of normal gasoline. New reference fluid blends are being developed that are in the range of gasoline and are more sensitive to instrument defects that would impact gasoline V/L measurement.

    gasoline; gasoline-oxygenate blends; petroleum products; T(V/L = 20); vapor-liquid ratio;
