To revise marking language to be consistant with F1807 and to also allow for optional marking on crimp rings as substitute for existing requirement to be black in color. The original intention of black in color was to help plumbers and code inspectors recognize the rings as being specifically for PEX and not for PB which used a bright copper ring. Over the last several years it has been demonstrated that there are alternate ways to clearly mark the rings so that they still clearly identify PEX. This project is not to eliminate the black in color but to only add alternate marking option if the manufacturer so chooses.
