    (What is a Work Item?)

Developed by Subcommittee: D02.A0 | Committee D02 | Contact Staff Manager

    1. Scope

1.1This specification covers natural gasoline to be used as a blendstock in ethanol fuel blends for flexible-fuel automotive spark-Ignition engines (specification D5798). The blends are referred to commercially as Ethanol Flex Fuel blends. 1.2This specification also covers natural gasoline to be used as a denaturant in denatured fuel ethanol for blending with gasolines for use as automotive spark-ignition engine fuel (Specification D4806). 1.3This standard is intended to provide a market specification and a regulatory reference for natural gasoline to be blended outside of a facility that produces gasoline blend components from crude petroleum. 1.4The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as standard. Values given in parentheses are provided for information only.

This specification will serve a commerical specification for hydrocarbons that can be used to blend ethanol fuel blends (D5798) and denatured fuel ethanol (D4806). Regulators could adopt this specification for stipulating the requirements for the hydrocarbons in these uses.
