    1. Scope

    This standard details a laboratory method to accelerate surface corrosion of electroplated chromium components exposed to hygroscopic corrosive chloride compounds. It is applicable to any substrate and coating system that utilizes electroplated chromium as the final metallic deposit.

    Manufacturing control, specification acceptance, simulated service evaluation, and research and development. Used primarily by the automotive, truck and heavy equipment industry.
