    1. Rationale

    There have been advances in hydraulic fixturing that have produced results that are either not statistically different from or have less scatter than results produced with the traditional IITRI fixture. The addition will allow for an alternative fixture that is easier to use while maintaining result integrity. Sections of the test method need to be corrected or updated for consistency with other test methods. The calculation for Poissons ratio needs to be corrected. The report section should be revised so that it is consistent with the other composite test methods. The section regarding percent bending should also include the information from section 12.4.1 of ASTM D6641/D6641M.
