    1. Rationale

    This work item is for a general update to Test Method C215. Aside from editorial housekeeping, the proposed technical changes include the following: 1) revise requirements of the apparatus so that the longitudinal resonant frequency of 200 mm cylinders can be measured; 2) clarify the requirement for a graphic display for the forced resonance method; 3) add dimensional requirements for specimens tested in the longitudinal mode; and 4) revise Fig. 3a and the description of the testing configuration for the transverse mode.
