ASTM WK44759

Revision of D2857 - 95(2007) Standard Practice for Dilute Solution Viscosity of Polymers

    (What is a Work Item?)

Developed by Subcommittee: D20.70 | Committee D20 | Contact Staff Manager

    1. Rationale

The following addition was made to Section 6.6 in response to a negative received on previous ballot. The ASTM Mercury Removal Initiative, administered by E20 Committee on Temperature Measurement, has as a goal the phase out of non-fever mercury thermometers ( Section 6.6 of D2857-1995(2007) requires the use mercury thermometers ASTM 110C or 118C Thermometers. By allowing alternative temperature measuring devices, this goal may be more quickly achieved. The Mercury Hazard Caveat statement was added as Section 1.4
