The changes outlined below are necessary to coordinate the F1960 fittings sizes with existing tubing sizes. The presence of larger dimension tubing requires fittings in corresponding sizes to allow for a full system installation. The details and rationale for each change is further detailed below: Section 1, Scope Add in the 2 , and 3 inch sizes. The 2 and 3 inch sizes are an addition in this revision and the scope should reflect all sizes present in the fitting sizing tables. Figure 1 and Figure 2 Remove maximum radius callout from Note section below graphic. This is consistent with existing standards that callout a minimum radius only. The radius will still be defined by a minimum .003 at all internal corners and this appears in a note within the standard which is for reference only. This design has been successfully manufactured in Europe for many years and internal testing validates this change. Add 2 and 3 inch sizes and dimensional criteria to the existing table. Change tolerance of dimension G to a minimum requirement. This change assists with the ease of manufacturing. Testing shows no pipe interaction with this section of the fitting. Adjust maximum out of round for 3/8 inch through 1 inch as the existing 0.012 maximum is not manufacturable on these smaller sized rings. The PEX rings have been performance tested at the 0.024 specification with successful results. The existing language is not applicable for larger sizes as the maximum overhang varies by size. The existing callout for maximum overhang is not measurable in the field in all installation situations and should not be defined within this standard. Referring to manufacturers written instructions allows for specific instructions by system size and installation type without adding each scenario to ASTM F1960. Section 10.3.2 Improper Connections This section was removed as it is obsolete without specific connection assembly instructions, which has been deleted in this revision.
