ASTM WK44552

Work Item: ASTM WK44552 - Revision of E1428 - 99(2009) Standard Test Method for Evaluating the Performance of Antimicrobials in or on Polymeric Solids Against Staining by Streptoverticillium reticulum (A Pink Stain Organism)

    (What is a Work Item?)

    Active Standard: E1428 - 99(2009)

Developed by Subcommittee: E35.15 | Committee E35 | Contact Staff Manager

    1. Rationale

The rationale for this revision is in keeping with current scientific nomenclature for the microorganism used. Previous versions of this method called for the test microorganism Streptoverticillium reticulum. Now the American Type Culture Collection refers to this culture as ATCC 25607 Streptomyces species. This change needed to be addressed in the current revision/reapproval.
