ASTM WK44462

Revision of D2594 - 04(2012) Standard Test Method for Stretch Properties of Knitted Fabrics Having Low Power

    (What is a Work Item?)

    Active Standard: D2594 - 04(2012)

Developed by Subcommittee: D13.59 | Committee D13 | Contact Staff Manager

    1. Rationale

D2594 is a method that is used around the world to evaluate the stretch properties of knitted fabrics. This is often requested of testing houses where they are only provided with a finished garment. Unfortunately, the method only allows for a 125mm x 500mm sample and when provided only with a garment, this is often not enough fabric to perform the test. Since the report is as a percentage of stretch and recovery, the length should not matter and I proppse that an allowance be made for a smaller sample assuming that the sample dimensions are represented in the test report
