    1. Rationale

    Mechanical property test frequency is currently defined in terms of rough machined weight. The intent of this work item is to replace this term with weight at time of heat treatment which more clearly defines the intent of the specification since rough machining could be performed either before or after heat treatment depending on indiviual manufacturers methods.
