Developed by Subcommittee: D10.21 | Committee D10 | Contact Staff Manager

    WK44314

    1. Scope

This test method is intended to identify relevant testing conditions and protocols to enhance procedural and performance uniformity, provide a more standardized test method and a set of basic instructions when conducting the Stacking Test on various design types of UN specification packagings in conformance with the Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR).

Persons performing certification testing on packagings certified to transport hazardous materials have many choices to make when designing test equipment, methods and performance protocols. The criteria for making and documenting these choices are not spelled out in the HMR. In an effort to promote testing uniformity certain protocols and instructions should be agreed upon by the testing community. This document will help package testers design and perform tests in manner that is more generally recognized as conforming to the the HMR, and should aid in producing repeatable package performance.
