    1. Scope

    The scope of this work item is to standardize the sample preparation and testing of road marking thermoplastic, applied to concrete, under the Gardner Impact method. Also involved is the development of failure evaluation methodology.

    The road marking thermoplastic industry uses Gardner Impact as a QA /QC method but no detailed standardization of methodology or failure evaluation exists. Manufacturers of road marking thermoplastic and Department of Transportation end users will be using this method to qualify these types of products.
