At the April 2013 Indianapolis, IN meeting, the ASTM C552 task group agreed that the thermal conductivity values for Type II cellular glass (pipe and tubing insulation) will be balloted for removal from the standard. The rationale for this is that the manufacturer does not have control of the fabricated product and therefore cannot guarantee the properties of the fabricated product. This position was reaffirmed at the October 2013 ASTM C552 task group meeting as well. The proposed ballot item was also approved by C16:20 Subcommittee.
