ASTM WK43890

Work Item: ASTM WK43890 - New Specification for Icing Protection for Small Airplanes

    (What is a Work Item?)

Developed by Subcommittee: F44.10 | Committee F44 | Contact Staff Manager

    1. Scope

This task group is to review the icing requirements in Part 23/CS-23 and other sources to determine how those requirements should be placed within the F44 standards. Either a stand alone specification or integrated into each necessary specification. If it is determined that a stand alone specification is required this task group will produce that standard. Refer to the FAA Icing ARC report for information as well.

Certification for flight into known icing as well as icing protection of some airplane systems is required for the safe operation. The icing requirments currently specified in Part 23/CS-23 need to be integrated into the F44 standards in an appropriate way.
