    1. Rationale

    Proposed change in wording in Clause 11 for measurement of cross-sectional area of aluminum strand wires in the ASTM B778 standard. Rather than measure the mass of each individual wire, to allow the determination of the cross-sectional area using the mass measurement of the combined aluminum strand wires. The wording of the round wire conductor standards allows you to measure the wires as a group, rather than an individual measurement. The proposed change would bring the TW standards in line with the round wire standards.
