Section 14.3 on Relative Bias includes references to the test method D7042 that is superfluous to the content of this standard. Although D7042 did participate in the interlaboratory study on used oils, the data and conclusions from those results are better positioned within D4072. There were no precision statements included in this method for D4072. There does not appear to be any compelling rationale as to the inclusion of a portioned relative bias statement between D7042 and D7279 within this method, as the more appropriate relationship would be between D7042 and D445 manual kinematic viscosity which is the usual comparisons. D7279 is also due for review and reapproval in 2013.
