The recently approved (A671-13) revision corrected improper heat treatment parameters in Table 2 and misrepresentations of strength levels of grade designations in Table 1 but inadvertently created several grades with the same nomenclature (CJ 115). This proposal adds the specific plate grade in A517 to the pipe grade designation for clarity. Also, the word type is used in the ordering information which can be more clearly characterized in 1.3.1 and 1.3.2. Lastly, the previous revision modified 4.1.4 to include type, which now seems that the original wording would have remained more clear. This proposal is based on an affirmative with comment from the previous MCB. Because this creates no dramatic technical change and it is desired to forward to ASME for adoption for the 2015 Edition, a concurrent ballot is requested.
