In October 2012 the main committee ballot D02(12-04) included Item 109 (under the control of Subcommittee 8) where it was balloted that D5190, Standard Test Method for Vapor Pressure of Petroleum Products (Automatic Method) be abandoned (183 affirmative, 0 negative and 428 abstain). A recent review of six aviation fuel specifications, possessing vapor pressures in the range capable of being measured by D5190, revealed five of six eligible fuels listed this abandon method in their respective specifications. Jet B (D6615) was the only eligible fuel that did not list D5190 in its specification Each of the five effected specifications lists at least two alternative methods to determine the vapor pressure. Therefore, removal of D5190 from these specifications will not impact production of any fuel made to these specifications.
