In section 9.4 Compression Set C564 states The gasket shall be tested for compression set in accordance with Test Method D395 using Method B. then goes on to say Tests shall be performed during the day of production not to exceed a 24-h period... D395-03 (reapproved 2008)states in section 6. Conditioning: 6.1 Store all vulcanized test specimens or product samples to be tested at least 24-h but not more than 60 days. Proposed change: change section 9.4 in C564 to comply with D395. The Properly and complete vulcanization of the required Polychloroprene(neoprene)in order to achieve a best condition compression set value requires a rest period after production. The original wording was to mesh with C1277 and CISPI 310 requirements that guarantee parts are tested and pass all required properties before shipment. This change in C564 is not intended to change that.
