220.127.116.11 - This section of the standard does not consider all of applications and methods available to install lath/plaster accessories. The vast majority or all of these components are not structural to the plaster cladding which is required to be structurally embedded into the plaster base. The attachment of a plaster accessory becomes permanent when the plaster it is embedded in hardens. Therefore, the second sentence of 18.104.22.168, which reads, Flanges of accessories shall be secured at not more than 7in. (178 mm) intervals along supports should be removed leaving just the first sentence which reads, Accessories shall be attached to (the) substrate in such a manner as to ensure proper alignment during application of plaster.
