    1. Scope

    This test method describes a procedure to measure the oxygen permeability of plastic films and sheeting using the technologies described in ASTM Standard Test Method F2714. A test cell is described to hold film samples and allow non-invasive monitoring of oxygen concentration changes over time. The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as standard. No other units of measurement are included in this standard

    This method will allow the oxygen permeation of plastic films and sheeting to be measured. This property is critical to the prediction and prevention of spoilage of various food, pharmaceutical, and other items.
