Section A2.2 is titled Provisions for Drainage Behind Exterior Plaster. Paragraph A2.2.1, as a current mandatory requirement, describes a floor slab edge/cement plaster configuration conceived to be a water drainage provision. This requirement dates from the 1960s using plaster over open stud construction where the described offset to the floor slab was intended to form a drainage plane between the plaster and the framing system. No mention of how the code required water resistive barrier integrates into this assembly is described. The construction configuration described is antiquated, ineffective at managing water and no longer used in modern day plaster applications. Deleting paragraph A2.2.1 keeps C926 relevant.
