    1. Rationale

    A revision of the Calibration and Standardization section 8.0 of ASTM D7309 is proposed to improve the reproducibility of the sample temperature measurement, which is poor compared to other calibrated methods of nonisothermal analysis such as DSC and DTA. The temperature calibration procedure, which is based on the calibration procedure in E967, Standard Test Method for Temperature Calibration of Differential Scanning Calorimeters and Differential Thermal Analyzers, is expected to improve the reproducibility.
