ASTM WK43290

Reinstatement of D779 - 03 Standard Test Method for Water Resistance of Paper, Paperboard, and Other Sheet Materials by the Dry Indicator Method (Withdrawn 2011) Determining the Water Vapor Resistance of Sheet Materials in contact with Liquid Water by the Dry Indicator Method

    (What is a Work Item?)

    Active Standard: D779 - 16

Developed by Subcommittee: E06.55 | Committee E06 | Contact Staff Manager

1.1This test method covers the determination of the time required for water vapor to pass through a sheet membrane in contact with liquid water using the dry-indicator method. 1.2 The method has been used to evaluate water resistive barriers used in building construction in order to classify them for particular uses in the building envelope.

D779 was withdrawn from D06 and is now the responsibility of E06.55. The standard has been modified to make it more germane to building materials that reference this method in other ASTM standards.
